Monroe Environmental Corporation Competes for Detroit Wastewater Treatment Plant Renovation Project

Monroe Environmental Corporation, a Local Manufacturer of Liquid Clarification and Air/Gas Cleaning Systems, is Competing to Become the Equipment Supplier for the City of Detroit's Wastewater Treatment Plant Refurbishing Project

Monroe, MI - Monroe Environmental Corporation, a Michigan based manufacturer of Liquid Clarification and Air/Gas Cleaning Systems submitted a bid today to supply equipment to the City of Detroit. The project includes the replacement and refurbishment of 4 - 250-foot wastewater treatment clarifiers.

The Detroit Wastewater Treatment Plant is the largest facility of its type in the United States and among the largest in the world.

Monroe Environmental was required to go through a very rigorous and detailed selection process to become an approved vendor and to have their products specified in the bid documents by the City. There was only one other vendor bidding, so Monroe's participation helped make this bidding process competitive. While the final vendor selection has not been made as of this date, the fact that Monroe was able to clear the many hurdles to acceptance as a vendor for the City of Detroit is a major victory.

Becoming an equipment supplier for the City of Detroit is extremely important to Monroe Environmental and to the State of Michigan, said Monroe's President, Gary Pashaian. There are many advantages to the City for using a local supplier, but this project represents a greater value for the local and state economy. This project will result in an additional 15 - 20 green jobs in the Detroit area.
